Striker Kyle Joseph has completed a move away from Hull City to join Championship side Middlesbrough on a permanent deal, bringing an end to his 18-month stay in East Yorkshire.
Joseph’s move to the Riverside Stadium is understood to be worth in the region of £4m plus add ons to the Tigers, who signed him for £2.5m from Blackpool in January 2025.
City’s popular frontman was set to sign for Boro at the back end of June, a deal which would have helped the club’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) situation, but it collapsed at the last minute, before being resurrected in the past few days.
The 24-year-old became a crucial part of Sergej Jakirovic’s squad last term, playing his part in City winning promotion. His eight goals and five assists were vital.

Creully, Joseph was not able to play a part in the Championship play-off final against Boro, having been on the wrong end of a nasty challenge in the semi-final second leg win at Millwall.
Joseph celebrated on the Wembley pitch after the game on crutches after undergoing ankle surgery only a few days earlier, his second such operation in less than 12 months, though he’s expected to return in the next couple of weeks.
The forward had been suffering with an ankle issue in his opposite foot when he arrived at City from Blackpool last January, and played through the pain barrier in the second half of the campaign to help the Tigers stay in the league before undergoing surgery in the summer.
During his spell in the East Riding, the hard-working Joseph bagged eight goals and five assists in his 65 appearances for the Tigers, with his last coming in the 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday before the international break.
Joseph and his young family will now call Teesside home, and he’ll hope to play a key role in guiding Kim Hellberg’s men to promotion in 12 months’ time, penning an initial four-year contract. He will now link up with the Boro squad at their pre-season training camp in Portugal.
