Fresh twist in Kyle Joseph transfer saga as Hull City star set for exit

Kyle Joseph’s move to Middlesbrough is back on and could be confirmed in the next 24 hours, after Hull City agreed to sell the striker to the side they beat in the Championship play-off final back in May.
Joseph had been on the cusp of a £5m move to Teesside at the end of June, with City frantically trying to bring in cash to avoid a Financial Fair Play (FFP) penalty.
At the last minute, City’s deal with Boro collapsed with the Tigers clearing the decks elsewhere by raising the best of £9m through the sales of Ivor Pandur, Akin Famewo and youngster Aidon Shehu to ensure they would not face any punishment.

Since the original deal fell through, talks have been reignited by the two clubs, and now it’s understood a deal is on the cusp of being confirmed by both.
Hull Live understands Joseph will sign an initial four-year deal at the Riverside Stadium, and while he remains sidelined following ankle surgery before the play-off final, the striker is nearing a return to training, which is expected towards the end of this month, potentially early next.
Joseph was one of the club’s stand-out performers last season, scoring seven Championship goals and racking up five assists to help the Tigers claim a play-off place, before they eventually beat Boro in the play-off final at Wembley.
Sadly for the former Blackpool striker, Joseph was on crutches during the final after sustaining his ankle problem in the semi-final second leg win at Millwall.
