I think I know who Danhausen’s special friend will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event

On last week’s SmackDown, Danhausen revealed that he has a match against JD McDonagh at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It makes all the sense in the world to feature Danhausen on this show, seeing how he uncursed the New York Knicks to help them win the NBA championship for the first time in over 50 years.

That jabroni Matt Cardona was at the scene when Danhausen revealed the news about SNME, where he offered his services to help combat the numbers game of The Judgment Day. Danhausen declined Matt’s offer because he already has a friend from New York who will be there as backup.

This led to immediate speculation about Baron Corbinhausen returning to WWE as Danhausen’s special friend. The only problem with this theory is that Corbin isn’t from New York.

That brings me to a new report today from WrestleVotes Radio, which says WWE considered numerous creative pitches involving Danhausen and New York Knicks star player Jalen Brunson. However, any plans for Brunson to get physical in the ring were “shelved” when they found out he needed wrist surgery.

Regardless, Votes says several members of the Knicks championship team are expected to be in attendance at MSG for SNME, and WWE remains hopeful that Brunson will be there too. The report doesn’t connect these dots, but it seems to me that Danhausen might have more than one special friend from New York in his corner that night, depending on how many New York Knicks players are in the building.
