Margaret Qualley’s team is addressing her separation from Jack Antonoff in a new statement.
“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship,” Qualley’s told PEOPLE on Friday. “They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
PEOPLE reported on July 8 that the former couple, who tied the knot in 2023, had called it quits. One source told the publication that their marriage had been “rocky.” Another said that the actress and musician are “figuring things out.”

Speculation about their split came after Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden without Qualley. His sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, appeared to be his plus-one instead.
Fans also noticed that the Maid star deleted wedding photos from when she and Antonoff got married in August 2023 from her Instagram page. She also changed her Instagram handle from “isimostar” —a reference to Antonoff’s band Bleachers’ 2024 song “Isimo” — to “sarahmargaretqualley23.”
The former couple began dating in 2021 and made their first public appearance together in early 2022 when Antonoff accompanied Qualley to the AFI Awards Luncheon and Critics’ Choice Awards, where she was recognized for her performance in the limited series Maid.

Qualley and Antonoff got engaged in 2022 and got married the following August in New Jersey.
Antonoff said in April, months before he and Qualley broke up, that he knew he would marry the Substance star the moment he met her at a party in 2021. “I saw her and it was like a f—ing Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable,” he said on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.
“When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage,” he shared.

In February, meanwhile, Qualley briefly gushed about married life. “I love my husband, my family. I love dancing and horses. I love the moon. Happy crying is the best. I love listening to Tara Brach and books on tape. And anything Jack writes,” she told Vanity Fair at the time.
Qualley also mentioned that she has “always been very love-oriented,” saying, “I’ve always been looking for my person, and I met Jack.”
