Taylor Swift wedding cost to Travis Kelce revealed by Zohran Mamdani

Mayor Mamdani confirms Taylor Swift paid $160k in fees for NYC wedding
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani says Taylor Swift paid $160,000 in permit fees tied to police response for her wedding.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is sharing the hefty sum Taylor Swift paid the city for her Madison Square Garden wedding to Travis Kelce earlier this month.
The newlyweds, both 36, tied the knot in an extravagant ceremony at the iconic venue July 3, which took over the streets of Manhattan and required the New York Police to shut down the immediate vicinity. According to Mamdani, Swift shelled out six-figures to make that happen.
“Taylor Swift has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani revealed when asked how the Grammy-winner was compensating for police overtime.
“That was a permit that was finalized, I think, in just the days before the event itself,” he added.
Swift’s representative Tree Paine confirmed the couple officially said “I do” in one of the most anticipated events of the year on the evening of July 3. A sign outside the arena also displayed the message, “JUST&T MARRIED,” in the moments that followed.
Rather than bridesmaids or groomsmen, Taylor Swift’s brother Austin Swift was her man of honor and Jason Kelce was Travis Kelce’s best man. The bride and groom were dressed in Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, and Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
The nuptials were estimated to have cost upward of $20 million and welcomed roughly 1,000 attendees. On the big day, a parade of black SUVs, Escalades, buses and Ubers dropped lined 31st street to drop off the star-studded guest list, which included celebrities like Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise and Zoë Kravitz.
MSG has been a special place for Swift over the years. She headlined her first-ever show there in 2009 for her Fearless Tour and returned for her 2011 Speak Now Tour. In 2019, Swift marked her milestone 30th birthday at the venue while performing at the Jingle Ball.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce relationship timeline
Swift and Kelce’s relationship began when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made his interest in his now-wife known during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast, where he explained he hoped to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it while at her Eras Tour concert but was unable to do so.
This caught Swift’s attention, and the pair began dating in summer 2023. The “Love Story” singer later addressed the episode when she made an appearance on the podcast on Aug. 13.
“This dude didn’t get a meet and greet,” Swift joked at the time. “He’s making it everyone’s problem.”
Just 13 days later, the couple announced their engagement, posting photos of Kelce’s proposal on Instagram with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
