Montreal weather: You won’t have to water your garden today

There’s a chance of showers in Montreal Friday afternoon, meaning you get one more day without having to take the hose out to your garden.
That’s great if you’re one of the one million Montrealers who have been asked to cut back on their water consumption because of a deteriorating water pipe under Atwater Ave. The city might still water their flowerbeds, though.
Another reason you might be tempted to turn on the sprinklers is a high of 27 C with a humidex of 30 and UV index of 8, or very high. It’s a better choice to stay inside and keep hydrated while waiting for the overnight low of 15 C.
Friday afternoon’s showers are the last precipitation you’ll see for the rest of the weekend. Saturday and Sunday both feature sunny skies and highs in the upper 20s. Overnight lows will remain in the high teens.
