Citizen from Kurdistan Region Killed by IRGC Fire

A 27-year-old citizen from the Kurdistan Region, Rebaz Soleyman Saleh, was killed after being targeted by gunfire from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that on Friday, July 10, 2026, while Rebaz Soleyman Saleh and his brother were tending to their livestock in the border highlands of Khenireh, located in the Sidekan area of Erbil Province, they were fired upon by IRGC forces stationed in the region, resulting in his death.
Following the killing, the IRGC forces abducted his body and seized all of the siblings’ livestock. It was only after persistent follow-ups by the family that his body was returned on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
According to findings by the KHRN, the IRGC has significantly increased its military presence over the past few weeks along the border regions, from Piranshahr to Salas-e Babajani, deploying heavy weaponry and imposing harsh movement restrictions across these areas.
