Callum Turner’s Nikes are ready for the apocalypse

In case you missed it (for whatever reason), Callum Turner and Dua Lipa got married. They then spent their honeymoon bouncing around Italy, doing lots of very glamorous newlywed things. You know: boating in Positano, sightseeing in Rome, soaking in the sun in Tuscany. Lovely! But holidays don’t last forever, and eventually, you have to get back to the grind.
And that’s exactly what Turner did. Spotted in NYC, the British actor had stubble on his face, a sports jacket from Brut Archives on his back, and a massive duffle slung over his shoulder (it was Louis Vuitton, obviously – he’s still a Hollywood actor, after all). This was the look of a man who was ready to work. And on foot? The Nike Air Max Goadome. But this wasn’t just any ol’ Goadome. This was the low-cut version that the Swoosh dropped earlier this year – and sneaker guys went a bit mad for it.

Back in 2000, Nike wanted something that could go toe-to-toe with Timberland’s 6-Inch Boot. So, as part of its ACG line, it introduced the Air Max Goadome. It was a big, beefy boy that looked like it could survive several winters and a small natural disaster. And while it was technically built for the great outdoors, it didn’t take long for the streets to claim it.
Almost three decades later, the American sportswear giant chopped the ankle off and gave us the Goadome Low. The pair on Turner’s feet comes in ‘Taupe’, with a water-resistant upper, heavy-duty laces, and chunky metal D-rings running up the front. Down below, a heavy lugged outsole gives it plenty of grip, while it’s fitted with Air Max cushioning to keep everything nice and comfy. Basically, Nike took all the stuff that made the OG tough enough for shit weather and rough terrain, and squashed it into something a little easier to wear with a nice pair of vintage jeans.
The Eternity star’s historically been a Nike man himself. While out on a date with his now-wife last February, he pulled up to the restaurant in the super sleek Air Max TL 2.5. But now that he’s back from several weeks in the Italian sun, he’s gone for something a little more heavy-duty.
The honeymoon’s over. The stubble’s in. The work boots are on. Callum Turner is officially back on the clock.
