Widespread power outage hits Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope and beyond

A widespread power outage hit customers in Chilliwack, Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs and Hope at about 12:41 p.m. Tuesday (July 14).
More than 12,500 customers were initially reported by the power outage. Crews had been assigned to the issue, and the cause appears to be a transformer burnout and transmission circuit failures.
Affected smaller communities affected include Lytton and Sunshine Valley.
