The collision, which was first reported at around 6.30am today, happened westbound on the M27 between junction seven, Charles Watts Way and junction five, Stoneham Way.
Traffic was held for an hour between 7.40am and 8.50am before National Highways cleanup operations began.
At their peak, delays of over an hour and a half were being reported as traffic remained stationary while all lanes were stopped
All lanes reopened just after 8.50am.
In their latest update, a spokesperson for National Highways said: “All lanes have reopened on the M27 Westbound between junction seven, Hedge End, and junction five, Southampton, following a collision involving a car and a motorbike.
“There are delays of 60 minutes and four miles of congestion, though this should start to ease.
“Have a safe journey onwards.”
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed officers were called to a collision involving a car and a bus at 7.23am this morning.
They said no injuries were sustained.
