National Hot Dog Day falls on the third Wednesday of July, according to National Day Calendar. This year it is on Wednesday, July 15.
There’s something incredibly American about relishing a hot dog straight off the grill in the middle of summer, but should you put ketchup on a hot dog? What about mayonnaise? Do we microwave the dog, boil it, or toss it on the grill? It feels like everyone has an opinion on how and how not to make a dog.
There are so many ways to serve a wiener in a bun that arguing over the best combo of condiments and veggies to top it with feels like another great American pastime.
But something that is a little harder to argue over is deals that can make your National Hot Dog Day celebration a bit cheaper.

Dog Haus celebrates with a ‘A Big Wiener Giveaway’
Haus Rewards members can snag a free Haus Dog from Dog Haus on Wednesday, July 15, according to a news release emailed to USA TODAY. The restaurant chain will also offer buy-one-get-one-free hot dogs through July 31.
Hot Dog on a Stick deal
In honor of the brand’s anniversary on July 15, guests who purchase one stick at regular price can receive a second stick for just 80 cents at participating locations.
Portillo’s $1 hot dog deal
On Wednesday, July 15, Portillo’s Perks loyalty program members can get a $1 hot dog with a $5 or more purchase, according to a news release emailed to USA TODAY. The deal is limited to one hot dog per transaction.
Wienerschnitzel offers four for $4
On July 15, customers can purchase four chili dogs for $4 from the hot dog chain.
$1 hot dogs at Circle K
Circle K sells over 39 million hot dogs a year, according to a press release emailed to USA TODAY. So it takes “their glizzies very seriously,” and National Hot Dog Day is no different.
During the national day, it will be selling roller grill hot dogs for $1 on the Circle K app throughout National Hot Dog Day.
2 for $3.50 at 7-Eleven
Customers can purchase two items off the roller grill, including the Big Bite hot dog and the Johnsonville Dr Pepper Sausage, for $3.50 at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores on National Hot Dog Day, according to a news release emailed to USA TODAY.
While not a hot dog, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can also purchase taquitos for $1 until Wednesday, July 15.
$1.50 Costco hot dogs
Today would be a great day to grab a $1.50 Costco hot dog combo deal, which includes a bottle of water or a soda. But this isn’t necessarily in honor of National Hot Dog Day and can be purchased any time.
Costco hot dogs are among the most iconic in America, and the price of the meal hasn’t changed in 40 years, according to USA TODAY’s previous reporting. While the prices of most grab-and-go meals have increased, Costco has remained constant and continues to offer a deal on National Hot Dog Day and throughout the rest of the year.
Grab a free Pringles-inspired hot dog bun
Pringles is giving fans another chance to get its limited edition Pringles-inspired buns for free when they purchase the Pringles Three-Pack for $6.97 on OnceYouPopMarket.com.

USA TODAY’s Fernando Cervantes Jr. tried Pringles’s limited edition Pop Dog Buns, which are infused with three of the brand’s iconic flavors.
The buns come in three different flavors, according to Pringles’ website:
- BBQ
- Sour cream and onion
- Honey mustard
Fans will get their chance to get their free bun while supplies last on Pringles’ website at 12 p.m. ET.

- Love’s Travel Stop– Customers can get a free hot dog through the chain’s app while supplies last.
- Sonic– On Thursday, July 16, Sonic is selling 99-cent corndogs.
- Freddy’s– Anyone with the Freddy’s Rewards app can receive a Chili Cheese Dog for $3.49 on July 15. Offer is limited to one per guest.
- Shake Shack– From July 15 to July 19, Shake Shack is offering a classic hotdog with classic fries or a classic lemonade for $8 when fans use code SUMMERDOG when they place their orders via the Shack App, website or in-Shack kiosks.
- HelloFresh– Customers who use code HFHOTDOG will receive 10 free meals from HelloFresh and free breakfast for life.
- Krystal– When loyalty members spend $5 or more on they app, they can get a free Classic Pup, Corn Pup or Chili Cheese Pup on July 15.
- Philly Pretzel Factory– Customers can purchase pretzel dogs for $1 on July 15. But rewards members can get one for free to celebrate National Hot Dog Day.
- Regal Cinemas– Until Aug. 2, Regal Crown Club members can get 1,000 extra credits when they purchase any hot dog, including Regal’s new quarter-pound Nathan’s hot dog.
