How Rangers fared in behind closed door game vs Johor Darul Ta’zim

Derek McInnes’ side drew 1-1 against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday with a late Findlay Curtis equaliser ensuring the game ended all square.

And tonight they drew 2-2 against Johor Darul Ta’zim.

McInnes started with Liam Kelly in goals. Rydnn McGuire, the club’s promising 17 year old goalkeeper, has started all three friendly games in goals to this point.

Dujon Sterling, Ben Godfrey, Manny Fernandez and Tuur Rommens made up the back four, with Dan Neil and Mo Diomande pairing up in centre midfield.

Findlay Curtis and Djeidi Gassama started on the wings, with Lawrence Shankland, who wore the captain’s armband, partnering Ryan Naderi up top.

Oliver Antman, Nedim Bajrami and Bojan Miovski came off the bench in place of Lawrence Shankland, Dan Neil and Findlay Curtis.

Youssef Chermiti, Tochi Chukwuani and Ross McCrorie would replace Ryan Naderi, Djeidi Gassama and Ben Godfrey.

Rangers trailed 2-0 in the game after two second half goals, before a Chukwuani double levelled things.

Rangers beat Raith Rovers 5-1 and Dunfermline 3-1 in friendly games before jetting out to Spain last Friday.

McInnes’ side will now return to the UK after a week in south Spain and prepare for friendlies with St Etienne and West Ham at Ibrox next week.

Earlier today the Rangers Review reported the club were advancing in a move for Serbian midfielder Vanja Dragojevic as further additions to McInnes’ midfield are sought, with additions at centre back and in the wide areas being targeted.
