Gameday: Raptors @ Heat, July 16th

The Toronto Raptors are taking on the Miami Heat in their fourth summer league game tonight. Injuries have hindered Toronto’s summer league roster, with Collin Murray-Boyles and Alijah Martin being sidelined in every game, but they have persevered due to some riveting play from the rest of their roster. Players like Nate Bittle, and Seth Lundy, as well as first-round draft pick Allen Graves have stepped up immensely and have led Toronto to a positive record thus far in summer league.
Raptors Outlook
Record: 2-1
Graves has shown that he is a tenacious rebounder and revels in doing the little things, the dirty work if you will. He has also shown that he is a sound cutter off the ball and a fairly solid finisher. Tonight will be another chance for him to take on some good defensive matchups and truly test his mettle. With all the injuries that Toronto has faced this summer, Lundy has taken up the opportunity for more shot attempts and run with it. He’s averaged 22.5 points per game in Toronto’s last two games, and his shooting stroke has looked pure in each game. Toronto will surely need him to continue being an excellent scorer tonight against Miami.
Heat Outlook
Record: 1-2
Trevor Keels has been a standout player for Miami during this year’s summer league, he has been a dangerous scorer for them and should be at the top of Toronto’s gameplan tonight. Keels has several years of NBA experience so he could really cause some trouble for the mostly young and fresh talent on the Raptors roster. Keels didn’t play in Miami’s last game, so his status fortnight will cause a big swing in the outcome of the game. Outside of Keels, Miami doesn’t really have any worrisome players or a standout draft pick that Toronto should be concerned with, so once again Toronto should be favored and ultimately win this game.
