Bryson DeChambeau wrecking the image he worked hard to build

SOUTHPORT, England — Two top players finished their respective British Open first rounds within minutes of each other Thursday at Royal Birkdale.
One, Jordan Spieth, had a disappointing start to the tournament, shooting a 3-over 73 to face an uphill battle to make the cut Friday.
The other, Bryson DeChambeau, finished his round one shot off the lead at the time, with a 3-under 67.
While a large group of reporters waited in the interview tent to speak to DeChambeau, who’d been requested by R&A officials, Spieth poked his head in to courteously ask if anyone needed to speak to him.
