The Guardians have reportedly acquired LHP Foster Griffin from the Washington Nationals.
Griffin is 31 years old and a free agent in 2027 with a 3.06 ERA and a 4.09 FIP with an 8.07/2.09 K/BB%. In his return from KBO he has gone 12-3 in 22 starts for Washington.
I wonder if this move puts Slade Cecconi or Joey Cantillo in the bullpen as a helpful reinforcement.
LHrP Will Dion, LHsP Josh Hartle, RHrP Kendeglys Virguez and RHH outfielder Nick Mitchell are the return for Griffin. Some arms of interest, but not likely to have high ceilings, and a contact-first potential RHH platoon bat in Mitchell. Seems fair for a pitcher who has performed as Griffin has.
