Facebook and Instagram users worldwide were experiencing issues on both Meta’s major social media platforms as message has been seen saying they are currently “unavailable”

Meta was reportedly been hit by a major outage as users of both Facebook and Instagram worldwide have been hit with an error message when trying to access both platforms.
The error is only appearing to be an issue for thousands of users accessing both social media networks on their computers, who are left unable to move from an error message on screen.
The message, which appears the same as on Instagram due to being redirected to Facebook, reads: “Account Temporarily Unavailable.
“Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.” The issues have now been sorted and service for both platforms is back to normal.

Outage alert site Downdetector had also seen reports come flooding in with over 5,000 made regarding Facebook and over 1,000 for Instagram in the UK. Initially, it was thought to only be UK users hit but reports are now coming in from other countries in Europe, North and South America.
For both social media platforms, Downdetector has had thousands of outage reports from US, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and many more. Although reports are in the thousands for each country, the issue is believed to have caused a problem for over a million users collectively.

Following the issues with the two popular Meta sites, users have flooded X to talk about the outage with many posting a screenshot of the error message.
One said: “I’m getting this error message on Facebook in both Safari and Chrome on my laptop. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Facebook works fine on my cellphone.”
Another added: “@Meta you guys okay over there??… it looks like Facebook is down and I can’t get into the site.”

A third commented: “Is Instagram down or something because no posts are coming up on my feed and when I refresh it, it says “welcome to Instagram”.
A fourth wrote: “Instagram down? My uploading video is stuck.”
Facebook’s messenger and ad manager are also reported to be hit by the outage, according to some users on X.
Meta has yet to release a statement on the outage other than the error message published on both platforms.
