Brooke Henderson announces engagement to professional baseball player

Brooke Henderson has announced her engagement to minor league baseball player Ricky Castro.

“God is so good for giving us each other!” Castro wrote on Instagram.

Henderson said “Yes!” two days after finishing runner-up at the Amundi Evian Championship in France. It marked her second top-3 finish in a major in a three-week stretch that also included the birth of her niece, Sahalee. The two-time major winner posted three eagles in the final round, including an ace.

Castro is a pitcher for the St. Paul Saints, a Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

The couple met in Naples, Florida, where Henderson has a home, and started dating in March 2025.

“I feel like this life out here is pretty difficult because you travel so much,” Henderson told Golfweek last August. “He’s traveling a lot, I’m traveling a lot, so he really understands the lifestyle and all that it takes to perform at your best. So he’s very understanding that way, which I think is really key in a relationship out here.”

When asked whether Castro played golf, Henderson laughed and said they’re working on it.

“He hits it super far, which is really impressive,” she added.

Henderson, the winningest player in Canadian golf history, will compete next at the AIG Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.
