Lorent Tolaj has signed a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee and will wear City’s No. 9 shirt.
The Swiss striker joins following a superb season with Plymouth Argyle, where he scored 21 goals, including 17 in the league.
Tolaj is City’s seventh senior signing of the summer and links up with Michael Skubala’s squad after an in-demand close season in which he has been courted by a host of clubs.
“I am really happy to be here,” said Tolaj. “As soon as Bristol City contacted my agent I wanted to get the deal done.
“It is a great club with a great fanbase and I spoke with the manager about the plan. I am ambitious and this club is ambitious, so that’s why I wanted to come here.
“To make the step up is important for me and I will give everything for this football club.”
Tolaj has had a remarkable rise in English football at just 24, playing for Aldershot in the National League in 2024 and thriving at Port Vale in League Two before joining the Pilgrims.

“His progression over the past few seasons is testament to both his talent and work ethic. He will add a different dimension to our squad and we believe he will thrive working with the group.”
