Congratulations to Sporty Spice! Melanie Chisholm, also known as Mel C, got married over the weekend to Australian model Chris Dingwall. Her fellow former Spice Girls Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell were all in attendance, while Victoria Beckham made the gown, making it a pretty spicy event all in all.
According to Vogue, Chisholm and Dingwall officially got married in Australia, then had a larger but still laid-back summer celebration on a friend’s property in Cumbria, U.K., on July 18. For both events, Chisholm wore Victoria Beckham. For the first, official ceremony, Chisholm had ordered a Victoria Beckham dress, but it didn’t quite fit. “I happened to have that exact dress in my own wardrobe and offered to lend it to her,” Beckham said. Chisholm described the dress as her “something borrowed.”
For the bigger event, Beckham said she “obviously” offered to make that dress too. “Victoria wanted to make it much more personal to me. She found some gorgeous vintage lace, and everything was really delicately dyed to the perfect shade. It’s very flattering, open at the back,” said Chisholm. “Victoria was so excited about being able to do this for me, and having her and [daughter] Scarlet there … every step of the way has been very special.”
Chisholm was married once before, to Thomas Starr, with whom she shares one daughter, Scarlet. The couple split in 2012.
