CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Clermont, Grant, Owen, Brown, Clinton, Highland and Gallatin counties are all under a Tornado Warning until 3:45 p.m.
Strong to severe thunderstorms will move into the region, making Tuesday a First Alert Weather Day.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the area under an Enhanced Risk — Level 3 of 5 — signaling a greater potential for severe weather than we’ve seen recently.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for the following counties:
- Adams
- Brown
- Gallatin
- Grant
- Highland
- Owen
- Switzerland
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the following counties until 5:45 p.m.:
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire Tri-State Area until 8 p.m.

What to expect and when
The greatest threat window runs from around noon through 5 p.m., when storms are expected to become more numerous and stronger.
If severe weather arrives, it will come Tuesday afternoon into evening.(FOX19 NOW)
Damaging straight-line winds pose the most significant threat, capable of knocking down trees and causing power outages. However, the threat extends beyond wind alone.
Other hazards include:
- Flash flooding in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage
- Large hail that could damage vehicles and property
- A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out
Heavy rainfall is a particular concern where storms repeatedly move over the same locations, as the ground will quickly become saturated and unable to absorb additional water.
Timing is Critical
Noon to 5 p.m. is when you need to stay weather aware. Have multiple ways to receive warnings — whether that’s our First Alert Weather alerts, local news, or a weather radio. Don’t ignore today’s warnings.
Storms will gradually weaken later tonight before moving out of the area by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday Outlook
A stray sprinkle is possible Wednesday, but most neighborhoods will stay dry. Noticeably cooler and less humid air will move in, providing relief from today’s dangerous conditions.
