Matt Damon got pretty buff in order to play the lead role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. But you know who was even more jacked? His stuntwoman, Devyn Dalton. While Damon was appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Joshua Horowitz told him that his portrayal of title character Odysseus was strengthened by “the greatest bicep” he’d ever seen (outside of a Hemsworth brother, that is). Damon was flattered, noting that it was “almost 100 percent” his arms pictured in the film, but he gave additional credit where it was due: to his four-foot-five stand-in, Dalton.
Damon explained that to film a fight scene with the Laestrogynians, a heavily armored island of giants, Nolan used “forced perspective” to make the human characters look tiny. “There were these stunt men who were all seven feet, and then they got stuntmen who were under five feet,” he explained. “My double was a woman, a female stunt performer — who had the greatest arms I’ve ever seen.”

He added: “When she came into the catering tent the first time I met her, I went up and hugged her, and I thanked her for all the work she’d put in.” Commenting on a clip of the interview, Dalton wrote, “It was my honour to double @matt_damon_official ♥️.”
Much like Damon, I would love for Dalton to drop her fitness routine, which, according to her Instagram, looks to consist of muay Thai, calisthenics, yoga, dance class, boxing, pistol squats while balancing on a pole, and a lot of other things normal people can’t do. Can’t wait to see which A-list strong man she doubles for next.
