Nick Aldis relinquishes his job as WWE GM in order to make GUNTHER his b**ch

Tonight’s (July 24) episode of SmackDown kicked off with a contract signing between GM Nick Aldis and GUNTHER to make their match official at SummerSlam next weekend (Aug. 1 & 2) at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Raw GM Adam Pearce presided over the signing, where he stated that Aldis is not allowed to wrestle as a WWE superstar due to his role as SmackDown GM. Therefore, as soon as Nick signs the SummerSlam contract, he relinquishes his GM duties. Aldis had no problem at all with that sacrifice as he signed his name on the dotted line.
The Ring General talked a whole lot of trash when it was his time to sign. He said Nick is jealous of him for being a super rich WWE superstar, which is the kind of status that Aldis could never attain in his disappointing wrestling career. It will be the best night of Aldis’ life when he gets to share the ring with the greatness of GUNTHER.
Aldis responded by saying he could tell last week that GUNTHER doesn’t want any of this. Nick has nothing to lose at SummerSlam, because he hasn’t wrestled in three years. When he wins at SummerSlam, GUNTHER will go from being the Career Killer to his boss’s bitch.
Those are fighting words, of course, and Aldis soon found himself getting powerbombed through the table.
Commentator Wade Barrett later made it clear that Aldis is only relinquishing his GM job temporarily, and he will resume those duties after SummerSlam. Sure.
