Ladies Day is Newcastle Racecourse’s flagship fashion and racing event, held annually at Gosforth Park and combining a full afternoon of thoroughbred racing with a celebrated best-dressed competition, the Style Awards.
This year’s event, held on Satuday (July 25) is set to be the biggest in over a decade, with more than 20,000 racegoers expected at Gosforth Park this Saturday.
What to expect on the day
Gates open at 11am, with seven races run between 1:35pm and 5:10pm, and organisers say demand has been so strong that this year’s event is on track to sell out for the first time in years.
Paul Elliot, executive director at Newcastle Racecourse, said: “The demand for Ladies Day this year has been incredible, and we’re expecting to sell out for the first time in years.
“We’ve introduced some fantastic new additions to the event this year with brand new food, drink and post-racing experiences for racegoers to enjoy.
“It remains a real highlight in the North East social calendar and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the gates this Saturday.”
Tickets and drinks offers
With 95% of Grandstand tickets already sold and Premier tickets expected to sell out within 24 hours, racegoers are being urged to book now to avoid missing out.
Anyone hoping to beat the queues can buy priority entry tickets for £10 before Friday, July 24, while the first hour after the gates open comes with 50% off selected drinks and £10 off house wine, prosecco, champagne and jugs of Pimm’s.
The Style Awards
The Style Awards return for 2026 with a record prize pot worth more than £11,000, up for grabs for the 10 best-dressed guests, including luxury getaways, spa breaks, shopping vouchers and beauty treatments from regional brands.
Spotters from Tyne Tees Models Management will scout the crowd throughout the day, with hopefuls encouraged to have their photo taken in the Grandstand Hall before judging takes place in the Parade Ring at 3:30pm, when the overall winner will be announced.

Bongo’s Bingo and the after-party
Bongo’s Bingo returns roughly 30 minutes after racing finishes, with a 90-minute DJ set featuring 90s dance anthems from N-Trance ahead of the main after-party.
Shuttle buses will run from GOALS onsite between 4:30pm and 9pm, taking racegoers first to Say When bar in Gosforth and then on to Tup Tup Palace in Newcastle city centre for the official Ladies Day after-party.
