PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Two Oregon residents have developed Cyclospora infections that may be linked to the ongoing national outbreak, according to the Oregon Health Authority.
Both residents traveled to other states involved in the nationwide recall of pre-shredded iceberg lettuce tied to the outbreak, according to OHA.
Officials say the risk to the public remains low.
Oregon has not detected an unusual increase in the number of cyclosporiasis cases. So far this year, 23 cases have been reported in the state.
Cyclosporiasis cases reported in recent years:
- 26 cases in 2025
- 30 cases in 2024
- 10 cases in 2023
- eight cases in 2022
- 14 cases in 2021
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the outbreak was first tied to Taco Bell restaurants.
The CDC, Food and Drug Administration and state health officials have been tracing the supply of the lettuce and interviewing people across the nation about the foods they ate two weeks before getting sick.
The products were not reported to have been distributed in Oregon.
Health officials said additional cases linked to the outbreak are expected among people who recently traveled to affected areas, or as additional products may be identified as part of the outbreak.
