USA Track and Field Championships 2026: Nikki Hiltz wins 1500m by a whisker, claiming fourth consecutive national crown

Nikki Hiltz found a way to win – again.

The middle distance star used a surging kick over the final 200 meters to clip Addy Wiley and Emily Mackay at the finish line of the women’s 1500m final at the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships 2026 on Saturday (25 July) in New York City.

Hiltz claimed their fourth consecutive U.S. title with a 4:06.92, just .04 seconds ahead of Wiley, who had led for much of the second half of the race. 

The win capped off an inspiring month for Hiltz, who on 4 July stunned the women’s world-record holder in the mile, Faith Kipyegon, at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League stop in the 1500m.
