PREVIEW: ‘Caps look to bounce back in Minnesota | Watch on Apple TV

VANCOUVER, BC – Looking to bounce back. Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to wrap up their road trip with a visit to Western Conference rivals Minnesota United this Saturday, July 25. Kickoff from Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT.
LOON BOUND: Vancouver Whitecaps FC returned to MLS regular season action in mid-week with an end-to-end affair at FC Cincinnati, narrowly falling to a 4-3 result. The ‘Caps will now look to get back on track as they finalize their extended road trip with a visit to Western Conference rivals Minnesota United FC on Saturday. Dating back to May 2023, the Blue and White have had success against the Loons, tallying a 4W-1L-1D record in their last six meetings. That stretch includes the previous meeting between the two sides back in March, which ended in a resounding 6-0 victory for the ‘Caps at BC Place, as well as a 3-1 away win in their last visit to Allianz Field last season.
GAULD RETURN: Wednesday’s match against FC Cincinnati marked an emphatic return to league play for club captain Ryan Gauld. The Scotsman, who was making his first league start in 501 days, recorded a brace to secure his 100th and 101st goal contributions for the ‘Caps. In addition to his brace, he led the match with six touches in the opposition box, completed 88% of his passes. Gauld is now two goals away from reaching 50 VWFC goals across all competitions. Once he reaches this mark, he will become only the second player in the club’s MLS era to reach 50 and move up to sixth all-time.
UP NEXT: Following their road trip, the Blue and White will make their long-awaited return to BC Place on August 1 with a marquee clash against Western Conference rivals LAFC. The match, which will celebrate the club’s 13th annual Pride Match presented by TELUS, has already surpassed over 33,000 tickets sold. The following weeks will then see Vancouver take part in Leagues Cup 2026, where they’ll face LIGA MX sides Atlante FC, FC Juarez, and TIgres UANL in the group stage of the tournament.
