Oft-absent Toronto Argonauts starting quarterback Chad Kelly sustained another injury on Saturday.
Kelly exited at the 2:18 mark of the second quarter in the Argonauts’ game against the BC Lions with a head/neck injury. The Argonauts confirmed that Kelly was ruled out, per 3DownNation.
The 32-year-old pivot took a hit to the head as he slid to the ground, and was attempting to stretch his neck as he was examined by trainers before walking off the field.
Kelly missed the entire 2025 season after fracturing his tibia and fibula in the 2024 CFL East Final game when Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund fell on his right leg. The Argos went on to win the Grey Cup with Nick Arbuckle starting in Kelly’s absence.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Kelly has thrown for 2,126 yards over seven games in 2026.
