SDCC: Watch 60th Anniversary Tribute Video Shown At Hall H Star Trek Panel – TrekMovie.com
We have covered the various bits of news emerging from today’s Star Trek Universe panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, but the event kicked off with a nice new tribute video celebrating 60 years of Star Trek. We now have that video to share along with images from the panel.
60 legendary years
Before the panelists came out, this video was shown to the crowd. It features iconic clips and quotes from franchise history. It also includes a voiceover narration from Sonequa Martin-Green, Captain Burnham from Star Trek: Discovery.
Star Trek Universe in Hall H
Saturday’s Hall H panel moderated by Scott Mantz began after the above video with Rod Roddenberry, son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, making a statement marking the occasion, and talking about his father’s legacy, particularly pointing to the messages and themes of optimism and diversity.

Things then moved on to the “Star Trek 60th Celebration Conversation” with a mix of stars spanning the history of the franchise: George Takei (TOS), Michael Dorn (TNG, DS9), Robert Picardo (VOY, PRO, SFA), Cirroc Lofton (DS9), Dominic Keating (ENT), Doug Jones (DSC), Michelle Hurd (PIC), Jerry O’Connell (LDS), Christina Chong (SNW) and Karim Diané (SFA).

The second half of the panel was dedicated to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which debuted its fourth season earlier this week. On the panel were Anson Mount (Pike), Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin-Riley), Ethan Peck (Spock), Christina Chong (La’an Noonien-Singh), Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura), Melissa Navia (Ortegas) and Paul Wesley (James T. Kirk).
