When is Tigers-Mariners Game 3 of playoff series? Time, TV, starting pitchers

Analyzing Detroit Tigers win 3-2 vs Seattle Mariners in Game 1 of ALDS

Evan Petzold and Jeff Seidel break down the Detroit Tigers’ 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners in Game 1 of the ALDS on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025.

It’s time for playoff baseball in the Motor City.

The Detroit Tigers will host the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for Game 3 of the ALDS after the Mariners tied the series with a 3-2 win in Game 2 on Sunday night in Seattle.

The Tigers next game is Tuesday in Detroit, with a start time of 4:08 p.m. and TV channel of FS1.

The Tigers can advance to the ALCS for the first time in 12 years with two wins at home.

It’s the first home playoff game for the Tigers this season after it seemed like they might not get one at all. For most of the season it was a virtual lock they’d not just host a playoff game, but likely have a bye and two home games to start the ALDS.

Thanks to the September choke, that was not the reality, as the Tigers started the postseason with three games on the road at Cleveland and two games at Seattle.

Now, in a pivotal Game 3, the Tigers will be back at Comerica Park. In last year’s return to playoff baseball in Detroit that ended a 10-year drought, the Tigers went 1-1 at home, winning Game 3, 3-0, against Cleveland and then losing a crushing Game 4, 5-4, when they were on the brink of making the ALCS.

This time around, the Tigers will be adamant about not letting the series get back to Seattle.
