Motorcycle fatality

Members of Peterborough OPP, along with EMS and Fire, responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision involving motorcycle.

On July 25, 2026 at approximately 4:45 p.m., OPP, along with EMS and Fire, responded to reports of a motorcycle collision on Northeys Bay Road, near Fire Route 19 Road, in North Kawartha.

As a result of the collision, the rider, a 54-year-old resident of Oshawa, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A section of Northeys Bay Road was closed in both directions for several hours while the OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement team assisted with the investigation.  The road has since reopened.
