Emmerdale newcomer Steve is set to cause some big trouble in the village next week as he plans to rob Home Farm. Steve is an old friend of Kev Barton’s and he’s not too keen on his pal’s attempt to reform himself and turn his life around.
In recent weeks Kev has been trying hard to build a relationship with his son Lewis and prove himself worthy of being a dad. Monday’s episode will see Kev prepare to celebrate Lewis’ birthday, even baking him a cake.

A preview clip released by the soap shows Kev agonising over a cake for Lewis as Claudette tells him not to worry, as his presence is all that really matters.
Kev opens up to Claudette about his own father saying he didn’t believe in celebrating birthdays because he thought they made kids spoilt. He went on to share that his father was constantly in debt and that his family were much better off after he left.
As Kev and Claudette are leaving, Steve comes home, saying he has a lead on a possible job. Kev warns him to stay out of trouble but once he’s alone, Steve opens his bag in which he’s hidden a hammer and a crowbar inside.
Further spoilers have shown that Steve will go through with his plan to rob Home Farm but when he gets there he realises that Serena has beaten him to it. Serena had already broken in to the property last week, as she continues her secret mission that seems to involve John Sudgen.
Serena and Steve will catch each other in the act just before Head of Operations Ross Barton arrives on the scene and they are forced to hide. Ross is determined to catch whose behind the robberies but will he find both Serena and Steve?

Our Emmerdale source teased: “Kim really needs to improve her security after this spate of break-ins.
This is Serena’s second incident sneaking around Home Farm, and now criminal Steve is having a go too. Serena and Steve could become the keeper of each other’s secrets after catching each other out – if Ross doesn’t rumble them, that is…”
