Congratulations to Emma Roberts, who married her fiancé Cody John on Saturday, two years after the pair got engaged. And, while we’re at it, congratulations to the drop-waist wedding gown, which seems to be the silhouette for brides in 2026.
The wedding took place at a private residence in Sun Valley, Idaho, with Roberts and John’s friends and family in attendance, including Roberts’ aunt Julia Roberts. Roberts walked down the aisle with her 5-year-old son, Rhode, and the ceremony reportedly lasted about 45 minutes. Roberts’ dress was custom chiffon Monique Lhuillier, with draping, a removable shawl, and a lace veil to complete the look. “I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress,” Roberts told Vogue. Vibe-wise, the dress is not too dissimilar to the Matières Fécales wedding gown worn by Gabbriette just last week.
Roberts and John have been dating since 2022, shortly after Roberts split from Garrett Hedlund, who is the father of her child. It’s not hard to find evidence of their love on John’s Instagram page, as his last four grid posts are all happy birthday tributes to Roberts. May that kind of love find all of us one day.
