Alan Shearer had been working as a co-commentator at the FIFA World Cup final just days before the wedding, but made a quick return to the UK to ensure he was there for his daughter’s big day.

The former England striker later shared a series of photographs from the celebrations, including one showing Hollie proudly holding up her wedding ring while Marchant signed the marriage register.

Another image, first shared by Hollie’s sister Chloe, captured the newlyweds enjoying their first dance together.

Hollie moved to France after Marchant signed for Stade Français, with the England international leaving Harlequins to continue his club career in the Top 14.

The pair have regularly shared glimpses of their life abroad on social media since making the move.
