For a guy who reported he has injured the ACL and meniscus in his right knee and needs surgery, Conor McGregor put on quite the performance last week.

He posted a video on his Instagram account of him working out on a leg extension machine. Apparently McGregor is trying to strengthen his knee before surgery.

McGregor apparently injured himself when he opened his comeback fight July 11 against Max Holloway with a flying kick.

A reporter asked UFC CEO Dana White Sunday, July 27 if he knew what was going on with McGregor’s right knee.

“I have no idea,” said White, who was in New York for a boxing card promoted by his company Zuffa Boxing. “… We had him on FaceTime tonight ringside, but Connor McGregor’s out for a year.”

McGregor, 38, has said he’ll return to the Octagon as early as next summer. He has one more fight on his UFC contract and said he intends to fight again.

His fight against Holloway marked his first in five years and ended just 69 seconds after it started when McGregor was hobbling and the referee stopped the right.

McGregor said he suffered the exact same injury but on his left leg when he fought Holloway during their first bout in 2013.
