The Mets changed their uniform schedule to accommodate Emma Stone’s movie shoot

With the Mets sitting in last place in the NL East and among the worst teams in baseball, Citi Field hasn’t exactly been a hotspot for celebrity sightings in New York. But Emma Stone did make an appearance for Friday’s game against the Dodgers. And she was wearing a Mets hat (a true fan!).

It turned out that she was in character.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actress was at Citi Field to film her upcoming baseball movie, The Catch, starring her and Chris Pine. And when it comes to the Mets, they traditionally wear black jerseys for Friday night home games. Yet, they took the field wearing their regular home uniforms.

Basically, the Mets made plans to their actual uniform schedule to accommodate the movie shoot.

The Dodgers also agreed to make a change to their uniform schedule with every MLB team wearing special-edition Hall of Fame caps for the induction ceremony this weekend. On Friday, though, the Dodgers wore their regular blue cap and road grays before switching to the pinstriped Hall of Fame cap on Saturday and Sunday.

The Mets went on to lose, 4-2, but they did hit a couple home runs that the film producers were hoping for. So, there’s that.
