Saddle up, Marshals fans! The Yellowstone spinoff, centered on Luke Grimes’s Kayce Dutton, is riding back into our lives this fall. While we’ve known for some time that a second outing was in the works and was expected before the end of 2026, this week, Paramount revealed that the show’s second season will make its premiere on Sunday, October 4.
In a temporary departure, the hour-long premiere will air at 8:30 p.m. eastern on CBS before the series returns to its regular 8 p.m. timeslot the following week on October 11.
Beyond the premiere date, very little information about the upcoming season has been released. The season one finale earlier this year left a number of characters in potentially mortal danger, with Kayce’s son Tate (Brecken Merrill) unknowingly in the clutches of rival rancher Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey), who clearly had no intention of taking Kayce’s refusal to sell his land lying down. While Weaver took off with Tate on a seemingly innocent fishing trip, his henchmen had also cornered Kayce’s teammates Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Belle (Arielle Kebbel), holding them at gunpoint. So far, no announcements have been made to offer hints of any of those characters’s fates.
While Marshals—like almost all of the other shows in creator Taylor Sheridan’s stable—failed to pick up any Emmy nominations this season (Tulsa King picked up the sole Sheridan nod, for best stunt performance in a comedy) it has nonetheless proven a hit with fans. The series was picked up for a second outing just weeks after its first season premiered.
