Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s daughter, Suri, has reportedly dropped her father’s last name. “Page Six” and People reported on Monday that the 20-year-old is now legally going by Suri Noelle. She is currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and according to public records obtained by “Page Six,” she registered to vote in Allegheny County in October 2024, during her freshman year. (Shout-out to Holmes for raising a voter.) She apparently registered under the name Suri Noelle, which indicates that she has legally changed her name.

It’s unclear when exactly Suri made the name change legally official, but “Page Six” confirmed that she didn’t do it in Pennsylvania, meaning she probably filled out the paperwork in New York. That makes sense, considering she turned 18 in April 2024 and had been using Noelle for at least a few months by the time she registered to vote. When Suri graduated from high school in June 2024, she was reportedly listed in the program as Suri Noelle. Why Noelle? It’s Holmes’s middle name — how sweet is that?

Following her divorce from Cruise in 2012, Holmes raised Suri by herself in New York. In 2023, a source told “Page Six” that Cruise was not part of his daughter’s life. Suri is not the only celebrity child distancing themselves from their estranged father — in the past few weeks, three of Brad Pitt’s children with Angelina Jolie have filed to legally remove Pitt from their hyphenated last name. Jolie, Noelle — in my opinion, all these kids are leveling up to much more beautiful (and baggage-free) last names. Congrats to them all!
