Former UFC fighter arrested in Gretna for assault, threats

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Former UFC fighter Anthony Smith has been arrested on domestic violence charges in Gretna.

First Alert 6 Investigates confirmed a warrant was issued Monday, and Smith turned himself in Tuesday night. He is due in court Wednesday morning.

He was booked for attempt of a class I felony, terroristic threats, and 1st-degree false imprisonment.

Smith had a 17-year career in mixed martial arts and challenged Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship in 2019.
