Kris Jenner’s Mom Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Shannon’s Cause Of Death Revealed

An official cause of death has been determined for Kris Jenner’s mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon.
The cause was listed as acute cardiopulmonary arrest, according to a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly and E! News. The certificate also noted that acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer, which she had for months, also led to Shannon’s death.
She died at 91 at a Los Angeles hospital on July 16, less than two weeks ahead of her birthday, per the certificate.
Shannon — grandmother to reality TV stars Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — was cremated on July 23.

Jenner, 70, first announced the death of the Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch, who frequently appeared on her family’s reality shows, in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram on July 16.
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ,” she wrote alongside a photo of her mother. “There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters … to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.”
Elsewhere in the tribute, she added, “My heart is broken into a million pieces… thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life… I love you forever Mommy. Thank you for giving us everything.”
