Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) had a pretty rough 2025 in Coronation Street.
After losing her treasured twin brother, Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain), when he set off for a fresh start in India, she began to suffer with her mental health while training as a paramedic.
A special episode dedicated to her experience showed her faced with a death, an injured elderly patient and a vile racist attack, the combination of which left her suffering a debilitating panic attack, as the loss of friends, the departure of Aadi and the pressure of paramedic life began to coalesce.
As her anxiety continued to increase, her mood began to plummet as she struggled under the weight of her responsibilities at work while becoming so unwell.
Skipping work frequently, things came to a horrifying crescendo when she threw back alcohol and drugs in a bid to end her life, before she was released from hospital and back into her dad, Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) care, though it was apparent that he wasn’t equipped to deal with the true scope of Asha’s suffering.

It took the interference and kind words of Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) to convince her to seek proper help, and she headed to a mental health unit for treatment.

Ever since, things have been quieter for Asha, and amid her newfound peace, she’s been dipping her toe back into the dating pond with her former mentor, Sienna Millburn (Charlotte Tyree), and the two agree to a night out this week.
Despite it apparently going well, though, Sienna’s mood changes after a phone call and she disappears, leaving Asha slightly stung, though she apologises the following day with an excuse about having to take her nan to bingo.
Later in the week, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) causes further trouble when she accuses Sienna of stealing her wage packet, causing a bitter argument to break out and Sienna to brand Nina a ‘bitter ex’.

Next week sees Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) come across a woman named Sadie (Elizabeth Rider), who’s desperately searching for her daughter. Though Debbie offers to help, a confused Sadie snaps at her.
Later, Sienna discovers Sadie on the street and it becomes clear that Sadie is her mum and is suffering with dementia. Asha offers to help when Sadie clearly doesn’t recognise her daughter, but is dismissed, leaving her wounded, while Debbie is given a look into her own future.
Asha and Sienna take Sadie to a nursing home to weigh up their care options, while back in Weatherfield, Debbie and her husband, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) are both utterly rocked by the glimpse at what will inevitably come to pass for Debbie.
While Asha pledges to support Sienna, it’s clear that Sienna has been dealing with her mum’s illness for a long while. Will she accept Asha’s help?
