Good Morning Britain erupted into mayhem within minutes of going live. Host Kate Garraway uncovered her co-presenter’s biggest bugbear on Tuesday 28 July.
The 59-year-old broadcaster was back on air alongside host Richard Madeley and just before handing over to This Morning presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, the pair began chatting about their most irritating habits. It was then that the father-of-two admitted he couldn’t stand people munching food beside him, especially while at the cinema.
Kate then pulled out a bag of popcorn from the coffee table drawer and watched in amazement as Richard cringed. She giggled: “He’s the fun police; he doesn’t like people eating next to him,” reports the Express.

As she tossed another kernel into her mouth he groaned and marched off the set, which triggered Kate to exclaim: “He’s had enough, he’s stormed off set!”
After Alison and Dermot’s preview of their upcoming programme, Richard made his way back to the studio and slumped down next to Kate, who was still chomping on her popcorn before they broke for adverts.
The hilarious clip comes as Richard spoke out after the heartbreaking news of Bill Oddie’s death. On Monday 27 July, it was announced that the iconic wildlife presenter had died at the age of 85.

His representative, David Foster, confirmed the devastating news in a statement, which read: “It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Bill Oddie, the country’s best-loved birder.”
“Bill was a multi-talented celebrity – wildlife presenter, broadcaster, comedian, writer, songwriter, musician and conservationist. Yet it was never fame that he valued.”
Addressing the tragic news on the programme, Richard spoke about what it was like to interview the TV star: “He was spikey, you really had to get your boxing gloves out when you interviewed him. You couldn’t say the wrong thing.”
