A game of four 30-minute periods, Bournemouth led 1-0 after the first two periods thanks to an Evanilson goal that came from good Justin Kluivert pressing.
A flurry of goals in the third 30-minute period saw the Cherries first extend their lead to three through Alex Toth and Ben Gannon-Doak, before two Augsburg goals cut the lead to one.
Marcus Tavernier restored a two-goal advantage, before Enes Unal completed the scoring in the final period to wrap up a good win and a good workout for Marco Rose’s side.
There were few early chances in the opening ten minutes as the two sides settled into the heat.
Amine Adli was found by an excellent Alex Scott diagonal and saw his cross deflected into the side netting, before Djordje Petrovic made a good save to tip an Anton Kade header over the bar but the flag went up for offside.

Rayan was fouled in a good spot around 25 yards from goal, but Adli’s effort went over the bar.
Bournemouth took the lead after 12 minutes as Kluivert harried keeper Finn Dahmen, poked the ball off of him and both slipped, but Evanilson was following up to side foot into the empty net.
Petrovic made a top reaction save from Kade as he powered towards goal from the top of the box, before a deflected Ryan Christie effort was saved by Dahmen down to his right.
Scott fired a free kick well over the bar from range, before Robin Fellhauer shot wide from outside the box.
The Cherries went close to a brilliant second as Christie clipped a ball over the top and found Kluivert, he cut it back to Adli but his shot went just over the bar.

The Moroccan should have scored not long after, when Scott played him through one-on-one, but his effort was well saved by Dahmen.
Bournemouth brought Will Dennis and David Brooks on after the first period of 30 minutes, for Petrovic and Rayan.
Jeffrey Gouweleeuw shot over the bar after a corner dropped to him, before Bournemouth made another change, as Toth replaced Christie.
Dennis saved well down to his right from a Rodrigo Ribeiro effort after a fast Augsburg counterattack, before an excellent double save from the stopper punched a corner away and tipped the follow up effort over the bar.
Daniel Jebbison was introduced for Evanilson, before Dahmen had to be alert to palm an Adli cross behind.
Augsburg perhaps should have got a penalty as Kade cut inside Diakite after Cook had sold the Frenchman short and the German side raced forward, but it was waved away after Dennis got down to save a tame effort.

That was the final chance of the second 30-minute period, and Rose made eight changes for the start of the second 60 minutes.
Bournemouth had a brilliant chance after Gannon-Doak flicked the ball onto the on-rushing Adam Smith, but his cut back was turned behind with four Cherries waiting to tap home.
Brooks shot just over the bar after good footwork to make space in the area, before Rose’s side extended their lead.
Jebbison was at the heart of the goal as he pressed the centre back and won the ball, before showing good composure to slide the ball across goal for Toth to tap home.
Just moments later it was three as Tavernier back-heeled to Jebbison, and the Canadian did well to find Gannon-Doak on the right, who fired into the far bottom corner for his second goal in two pre-season games.

Augsburg got one back from the penalty spot as Fraser Forster went the right way but couldn’t keep out Alexis Claude-Maurice’s spot kick.
Jebbison had a good chance one-on-one after a good run and pass from Tavernier, but Nedijilko Labrovic saved well.
Augsburg made it 3-2 as Tim Schnitzer got the final touch on a corner that went through a crowd of bodies into the net.
But Bournemouth restored their two-goal advantage shortly before the end of the third 30-minute period.
Jebbison was again involved as he showed good strength to win the ball and play it Tavernier, who in turn found Gannon-Doak.

The winger cut it back for Malcom Dacosta Gonzalez whose effort was saved, but Tavernier was there to rifle home at the near post.
Unal and Kai Crampton came on for the final 30 minutes for Jebbison and Forster and there were few chances to speak of in the opening 15 minutes.
Crampton made a good save with his leg after a goal-mouth scramble before the flag went up for offside, before Remy Rees-Dottin replaced Gannon-Doak for the last 15 minutes of the game.
Unal made it five after Tavernier was slid through on goal and chose to square it to the striker, who had an easy finish after 110 minutes.
Zac Christie replaced Toth three minutes later, as the Cherries saw out another good win to continue their pre-season campaign and to end their time in Austria.
