A billionaire biohacker who wanted to live forever is seemingly questioning his life choices after being diagnosed with an ‘uncurable’ disease.
Bryan Johnson, whose viral stunts in pursuit of eternal life have included injecting himself with his son’s blood plasma and tweeting details reports on his wife’s vagina, recently revealed that he has developed autoimmune gastritis. It’s an incurable chronic condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells in the stomach lining.
And the diagnosis appears to have left the 48-year-old venture capitalist questioning whether his pursuit for better health and a longer life was worth all the effort. Writing on X, Johnson wrote: “Been thinking things over and wonder if I’ve taken this whole longevity thing too far.”

The health-obsessive has previously talked about looking to ‘conquer death’, and claimed to have the body of an 18-year-old, but if this latest post is anything to go by it seems the scythe of life’s remorseless swing appears to be catching up even to him.
Johnson’s diagnosis comes after years of unusual treatments and therapies that have set him back around $10 million (£7.5m), all done in the name of longevity.
The tech tycoon regularly undergoes tests to assess the speed and health of his sperm, aiming to preserve the fertility levels of a significantly younger man. He also claims to have eliminated 95% of microplastics from his semen by spending 20 minutes daily in dry saunas while applying an ice pack to his groin area.

He revealed on X that the concentration of microplastics in his ejaculate plummeted from 165 particles per millilitre in November 2024 to just 20 particles per millilitre in July 2025.
“The therapy we think most responsible for this reduction is sauna as it also eliminated most environmental toxins in my body, including those linked to various plastics,” he wrote.
Johnson also used to inject his own son’s teenage blood in the pursuit of youth, although the demanding dad did appear to stop this practice after becoming suspicious of its benefits.

And he recently claimed to have made a “clone” of himself as a newborn baby so he can harvest its organs. The tech billionaire claimed the “baby” will also be used to test novel new therapies.
After posting his concern on X, Johnson’s followers flooded the comments to encourage him not to lose faith, with one user writing: “I think you should continue doing what you’ve been doing! Every thing happens for reason! Your disorder isn’t fatal so I think you should continue pushing the limits of Longevity experimentation! You’re looking great so obviously it’s working”.
Another wrote: “Hang in there man. Don’t lose hope. Someone had to take the initiative. Lets strive to live long and prosper!!”
However, some appeared to endorse the switch to a slightly more normal way of life, with one simply saying: “just go have a beer and a smoke and chill out for a bit. It will be fine.”
