CCTV shows missing man Dean Hesketh who was last seen leaving Royal Preston Hospital.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a man who went missing from a hospital – and “may have contagious condition”.

CCTV released by Lancashire Police shows masked Dean Hesketh leaving Royal Preston Hospital at 11.16am on 28 July.

Officers say enquiries to find him are ongoing as they grow “increasingly concerned” for his safety and welfare.

They have described Dean, who also uses the names Tim and Anthony Gledhill, as slim, 5ft 4in with black hair and blue eyes.

The 51-year-old was last seen wearing a khaki green and black jacket, a Lyle and Scott jumper, black trainers, and a blue surgical face mask.

It is understood he also has strong links to Preston, Penwortham, and Blackpool.

Members of the public are being warned not to approach Dean if they spot him, as officers believe he may have a contagious health condition.

A spokesperson for the force said: “If you do see Dean it’s really important that you get in touch with us on 999 as soon as you can, so that we can make sure he is safe.”
