Stassi Schroeder is opening up about baring almost all at Miami Swim Week.
Fans may recall the “Vanderpump Rules” alum strutted in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show back in May. Down the runway she went in a beyond itty-bitty orange bikini at the W South Beach Hotel. Fellow brave souls/non-models included fellow reality star Bethenny Frankel, influencer Alix Earle and comic Tiffany Haddish.
The magazine sponsoring the annual extravaganza posted an Instagram clip of her sizzling moment in the sun, actually her second time participating.
Naturally, a mixed bag of comments flooded the page, and Schroeder may have done herself a disservice by scanning them all.
“The trolls got to me,” the TV personality admitted to Page Six Radio on Tuesday, adding the online critics made her a “little insecure.”
Particularly hurtful was a meme likening her body to SpongeBob SquarePants. Mind you, she is a fairly new mother of two (with husband, casting agent hubby Beau Clark). Daughter Hartford is 5, and son Messer is just 2. And at least a few folks In the peanut gallery recognized her fabulousness.
“I need Stassi’s secrets to looking so [bleeping] good after being a Mom!” wrote one sympathetic social media user. “I don’t have kids, am 41 and look nothing like that, lmao.”
Schroeder, who’s been in the reality TV racket for more than two decades — starting with “The Amazing Race” in 2005 — realizes nonstop scrutiny comes with the territory. Interestingly, the New Orleans native said she would likely put herself through the whole process of sashaying half-naked down the catwalk at Swim Week next year.
“The atmosphere, the energy, it’s such a girl- power vibe and everyone’s there just lifting each other up,” said the 38-year-old who currently stars in the Bravo spinoff “House of Stassi.”
The bestselling author’s mindset is evolving as fast as the Internet.
“If you believe all of the positive stuff you read, that means you have to believe all the negative stuff you read,” Schroeder concluded. “So, I just don’t believe anything.”
