Looks like North West’s first headlining tour isn’t happening after all. North, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Ye, was set to kick off the Kimokawaii Tour, alongside rapper Molly Santana, on August 5. But the first two dates appear as “canceled” on Ticketmaster, and the tour’s website is now defunct, per People. “I was really excited to go on tour w Molly Santana,” the teen wrote on her Instagram Story on Thursday. “Sadly it isn’t happening anymore.” North didn’t provide any further details as to why the tour was canceled days before it was scheduled to begin, but she did leave her followers with a teaser: “I have something special for u guys see ya soon.”
“To everyone who bought tickets to the tour i sincerely apologize,” Santana wrote on her own Instagram Story on Thursday. “i know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard earned money planning to be there. nothing makes me more happy than the opportunity to share more amazing memories with you all and i hope to see you soon.”
“You are all so greatly appreciated and please know that i never take your time or support lightly,” the 21-year-old added. “i love yall so much & promise i will make this one up to you.”
The Kimokawaii Tour would have marked North’s first official headlining gig performing songs from her debut EP, North4evr, which she released in May. Santana, who was featured on Drake’s “Ran to Atlanta” with Future earlier this year, previously appeared onstage with North at Rolling Loud in Miami, where North performed her lead single, “Piercing on My Hand” — about her controversial dermal jewelry — for the first time.
Something tells me it won’t be long before North gets another chance to tour. She’s already dropped original music and rapped with FKA Twigs at the age of 13. I’m sure by 16, Ryan Murphy will have cast her opposite her mom as the lead in his next legal dramedy.
