Tap Or No Tap? Watch Bogdan Grad’s Controversial Submission At UFC Belgrade

Bogdan Grad secured a second-round submission over Dennis Buzukja earlier today (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) at UFC Belgrade LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, but the win didn’t come without some controversy.
Buzukja came into this fight as a betting underdog, but the Longo-Weidman MMA product looked sharp from the opening bell. He finally had a full camp and appeared to be more confident in the early going. Grad returned favor with some slick spinning techniques before turning to his wrestling and forcing Buzukja to the ground. Grad ended up winning the first round, but it was closer than most expected.

Grad continued his wrestling deep into the second round, but he appeared to be tiring. This allowed Buzukja to land some good punches on the feet. Grad eventually got his second wind and ended up scoring a takedown along the cage. That’s when Grad transitioned to a tight arm-triangle choke and put Buzukja in serious danger. Buzukja was fighting and trying to stay in the fight, but it appeared that he tapped on Grad’s leg. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight, but Buzukja immediately protested as it looked like his “tap” could have been an attempt to push Grad’s leg off.
