Rear of Tesla driving in Full Self-Driving mode sheared off in Issaquah crash

A Tesla operating in Full Self-Driving Mode collided with an oncoming SUV in Issaquah this week after the vehicle suddenly swerved into opposing traffic, according to police.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Newport Way NW for a crash involving a Tesla and a Cadillac Escalade on Wednesday, Issaquah police said

When officers arrived, they found the rear third of the Tesla had been severed from the rest of the vehicle.

During the investigation, officers learned the Tesla was in Full Self-Driving Mode when it suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic, police said.

Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported.
