“Due to current wind conditions, today’s U.S. Navy Blue Angels performance has been canceled,” Seafair said in a statement. “Safety remains our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to resuming Seafair Weekend programming tomorrow.”

Seafair weekend kicked off Friday in Seattle as event officials expected approximately 180,000 visitors to the Lake Washington log boom, on the water and at Genesee Park over the three days of events.

The Museum of Flight told its guests who were at The Museum of Flight for Jet Blast Bash that they can stop in the lobby and pick up a rain check to return for Sunday’s show.

Seafair officials and Seattle police are emphasizing the safety plan.

The cancellation comes during Seafair’s 77th year.
