Pincher Creek RCMP say a hiker reported missing earlier this month was found dead Thursday afternoon.
The 81-year-old hiker from Golden, B.C., was reported missing by his family after he had departed Waterton Lakes National Park July 16 on the Carthew-Alderson trail.
He was scheduled to arrive in Coleman on July 22, but did not arrive.
RCMP and Parks Canada worked together on the seven-day search, with support from Alberta Search and Rescue Teams, aircraft and police dogs.
RCMP did not confirm how the man is believed to have died, or where exactly his body was found.
